Polish Legal Clinic
 
 Members of the Advocates Society will be offering free legal services at the Amicus Poloniae Legal Clinic on Sat., May 21, in Chicago.
 
 The clinic, located at 5711 N. Milwaukee Av., is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for residents in the area who are in need of pro bono legal services in a variety of legal practice areas.

Advocates Society Ted Makarewicz Grand Marshall of Polish Constitution Day Parade

 
 Ted Makarewicz, Chief Legal Counsel to Cook County Assessor Joseph Berrios and Past President of the Advocates Society, has been selected Grand Marshall of the 2011 Polish Constitution Day Parade.
 
 He, along with other members of the Society of Polish lawyers, will be sitting atop the float that will lead the 120th annual parade on Saturday, May 7.  All members of the Advocates Society as well as members of the Polish American Law Students Association (PALSA) of John Marshall Law School are invited to ride on the float which is scheduled to leave Columbus Drive in Grant Park at 10:30 a.m.

The parade, celebrating the 1791 signing of the Polish Constitution and marking the first democratic constitution in Europe, is the largest Polish parade outside the country of Poland.  ABC-7 television and local Polish media affiliates are expected to cover the event live.

Annual Installation & Awards Dinner & Celebration of 80 Years! 

Advocates Society members are encouraged to invite spouses, colleagues, and friends to attend the 2011 Installation and Awards Dinner.   The 2011 Installation and Awards Dinner will be on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Hotel InterContinental, Renaissance Ballroom, 505 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60611, overlooking the beautiful Magnificent Mile. There will be an open cocktail reception beginning at 6:00 pm followed by an elegant dinner with main course of Filet and Halibut beginning at 7:00 pm.  The event includes the presentation of the Award of Merit to Judy Baar Topinka, remarks of the outgoing President Megan Kaszubinski Ferraro, and installation of new Advocates Society officers including Robert P. Groszek as President.   The cost is $125 per person or $1,000 per table of 10 with RSVP by February 12, 2011. Business formal attire is requested.  For further information please contact Robert P.
